Latimes.com reports that in the latter part of 2011 Federal prosecutors arrested eight people and seized more than a ton of drugs. All of this happened after a long investigation was done and what they found out was that two national drug trafficking groups were working out of the same block in Compton. This investigation went on for two years. They also seized thousands of prescription pills during this bust. Let’s hope that the individuals hooked on these dangerous drugs have gotten themselves into Los Angeles drug rehabs.
One of the rings was Compton based Front Hood Crips with several of its members being arrested. The second ring was also linked to the Front Hood Crips. These organizations controlled marijuana sales from a house on West Stockwell Street in Compton and also sold prescription pills in Louisiana. There were 15 defendants all together and they were charged with conspiring to distribute narcotics. They do face up to 20 years in federal prison. Those are the kinds of things going on in Compton, California. The war on drugs wages. All of this activity cost our communities many dollars. The best way to fight this is to not do drugs in the first place. Then there would be no one to sell these drugs to. Drugs are very harmful to us our families and our communities. Earlier this year there was a multi-agency investigation into some alleged drug trafficking activities with the distribution of crack cocaine in Pine Bluff. This resulted in over two dozen suspects going to jail. There were nine federal indictments returned by a grand jury for the Eastern district and they were charging 24 defendants with drug conspiracy and multiple substantive counts of distributing crack cocaine. A large amount of these defendants do have prior criminal histories that get into drug trafficking and other violent crimes.
Quentin Tidwell and Keenan Packard headed up an investigation of a drug trafficking organization. They were working with DEA, Pine Bluff Police Department’s Vice & Narcotics Section. All working together they found out that the drug trafficking organization was distributing three to four kilograms of cocaine and crack cocaine per month in the Central and South Arkansas areas and they had been doing that for years. This group was home based in Pine Bluff but they had distribution locations in Little Rock, Stuttgart, Humphrey, Altheimer, and Dumas. They had many dealings with towns and cities within the state of Texas.
Agent Thyer said, “We continue to target the drug trafficking organizations in the Eastern District to make our communities safer for all citizens. It took years of work by federal, state, and local law enforcement to make this operation successful. In addition to the arrests made in this case, a number of weapons were seized – guns that will no longer be used in criminal activity in the towns where we seek to live in peace.” Agent Bryant agreed and said, “This investigation took good solid police work and the teamwork of multiple agencies. With the additional support provided by the Gulf Coast High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) we continue to dismantle drug trafficking organizations in Arkansas.” Let’s hope so — and that those who are currently addicted get themselves to one of the Little Rock drug rehabs, or find other local help in recovering.

Earlier this month there was an investigation going on by Palo Alto police. They were looking into some stolen iPads and that led to one of the largest methamphetamine busts in the country’s history. The federal agents and police seized 750 pounds of methamphetamine and all of this had a street value of $34 million. They were looking into a San Jose apartment and they spotted the drugs according to the US Drug Enforcement Administration. Palo Alto detectives were pursuing the electronic thefts when they came across this large quantity of methamphetamine. They called in help from the San Jose police and the Santa Clara County district attorney who then call the DEA. Casey Rettig, DEA Special Agent stated: “This bust is one of the largest we are aware of. They found boxes and boxes containing bags and bags and bags of methamphetamine inside the apartment.” 750 pounds, or 340 kilograms of methamphetamine confiscated in San Jose is equal to about 16 percent of all methamphetamine seized across the country last year and this is according to figures on the U.S. Department of Justice Website.
The home where this investigation took place is part of the Woods, that is a subdivision in south San Jose which a “park-like setting of mature trees, formal landscaped garden.” A perfect place to hide. The officials think the home was being used both as a residence and as a lab where powdered methamphetamine was converted into crystal form. At this time it is too early to link the lab to known drug cartel or trafficking networks, even though the trend in large methamphetamine busts in Central and Northern California involves ice conversion labs for drugs smuggled in from Mexico. Just last month the Mexican Army seized 15 tons of pure methamphetamine with an estimated U.S. street value of $4 billion. That is a huge haul from this raid in western Mexico. Hopefully that can put a dent into the supply chain in the U.S. That my friend is a great ending to one story of the war on drugs. That is a huge haul. Well done to the officials that were involved in this raid in Mexico and in San Jose, California. Sometimes you know they are making a difference. Let’s hope that the people who have become hooked on meth also get themselves help at one of the San Francisco drug rehabs.

If you know someone who needs help getting off drugs get them to an inpatient treatment center or crystal meth rehab where they can get safe and natural ways of detoxing and withdrawing. Although no one was available for comment on this situation, the city of Las Vegas is in shock that one of it’s greatest anti drug activists has succumbed to the evils of crystal meth.

Former U.S. figure skating champion Nicole Bobek was sentenced to five years probation after investigators found her conspiring to distribute crystal meth. Bobek, who won the 1995 national title, pleaded guilty to the charge and was sentenced to five years of probation.
Despite being renowned for her skating abilities and growing up in a very strict environment, Nicole Bobek still fell prey to this insidious, highly addictive drug. Crystal meth, made entirely of products found around the home, is quickly becoming our nation’s number one drug threat. What started out as a drug used chiefly by people living in rural areas has spread to the cities and is making its way into the majority of American homes.
One of the most dangerous things about crystal meth is it’s ability to cause the user to suffer from severe delusions. Often awake for days on end, crystal meth addicts will see things that aren’t there, hear things and suspect things that are not occurring. This can create a very unsafe and unstable environment and resulting in rash behaviors, violence and in some cases even murder.
Just as Nicole Bobek discovered, the only real way to handle a crystal meth addiction is to enroll in a drug rehab. If you or anyone you know is in need of help contact a treatment facility immediately.
A mother is being tried for the death of her two-month-old son, Jack. Last year, Kaisha Poulson was breastfeeding her baby with milk tained with massive amounts of crystal meth. She woke up the next morning to find her son dead because of the overdose.
This horrific incident occurred because Kaisha did not seek treatment for her addiction. Had she been able to successfully get off this powerful, man-made drug her son would be taking his first steps and learning how to talk. Instead, he unknowingly died of the same drug that his mother is dying of, crystal meth.

Crystal meth, a powerful, man-made drug is taking hold of people across the country. This stimulant provides a euphoric rush, followed by a surge of energy that makes cocaine look like child’s play. In addition to these manifestations, crystal meth addicts have an extremely high sex drive.
This sex drive happens to be one of the most dangerous things about crystal meth. Those suffering from a crystal meth addiction have lowered inhibitions making safe sex, or modesty a thing of the past.
Most crystal meth addicts use needles. THis means that sexually transmitted diseases are rampant, especially in the gay community.
Interestingly, as a person continues to abuse crystal meth they lose all desire to have sex – in fact, some users have reported being in a state of arousal for many hours, but were unable to climax.
The only real way to handle a crystal meth addiction is to enroll in a long-term, inpatient drug rehab. There are thousands of these across the country, one such facility is Narconon Louisiana.

In the last several years the crystal meth has changed from being produced locally, to being massed produced in Mexico. This allows more crystal meth to come into the country, without the scrutiny of officials due to the new laws regarding the purchase of crystal meth ingredients.
This creates a new game of cat and mouse because the crystal meth has to be smuggled into the country somehow. Drug traffickers have begun to hide the drugs in hidden compartments within their cars.
