Call 1-877-340-3602 for Meth Addiction Help
Crystal meth abuse is running wild throughout the state of Arizona. The only real way to stop this life threatening problem is to focus on rehabilitation. There are several different sorts of treatment centers available to those struggling with a crystal meth addiction. We have provided a list of the various types of rehabs.
Outpatient: This is usually reserved for people who have only used drugs a few times and who are willing to handle the problem before it gets out of control. These types of programs usually last a few weeks and are a few hours each day. Unless crystal meth abuse has just started and the person is really willing to handle their addiction, this is not the best solution.
Short term inpatient: These types of programs can last anywhere from a week to the traditional 28 days. Several years ago this was the most popular form of treatment for longterm, hard core addicts, however as more and more people learn about addiction, this is becoming less and less popular. The main reason for the decline in popularity is because at its longest, 28 days is just not enough time to permanently handle a drug addiction. While this form of treatment may not be optimum, it is better than outpatient and it has better results if the addict is willing.
Long term inpatient: The ideal length of time in rehab to handle a crystal meth addiction is 3 months or more. This allows the addict to handle all situations, triggers, reasons, and people that led them to abuse crystal meth in the first place. There are several different types of programs that offer this length of program and our drug and alcohol counselors are here to help you choose the right one.

Arizona Crystal Meth Abuse for Children
Children who abuse crystal meth seem to be most at risk for continuing their addiction. This may be because their bodies grow up "needing" the drug, or it may be because they so often go through life without getting their addiction handled. While it can be hard to find a long term, inpatient rehab that will handle crystal meth abuse with children, our drug and alcohol counselors can help find one that does. |

Crystal Meth Rehabilitation in Arizona
The most prominent type of crystal meth found in the state of Arizona is Mexican methamphetamine. Because of Arizona's location on the Southwest border, Mexican drug trafficking organizations use the state as an operating base for methamphetamine distribution to the rest of the U.S.. Most Mexican drug trafficking organizations are poly-drug organizations, meaning they smuggle in more than just one type of drug. Mixed in with batches of meth, can be cocaine, heroin or mairjuana.
In 2006 there were 41 reported meth lab incidents. The state of Arizona only reported 8 meth lab incidents in 2007. This can be attributed to the decrease of personal labs and the increase of Mexican crystal meth.
Only 1% of 9th graders have abused crystal meth at least once in their lifetime. However that number begins to increase as children reach the 10th grade. 1.7% of 10th graders have abused methamphetamine at least once in their lives.
The Arizona Multi-jurisdictional task forces seized 190,776 grams of methamphetamine in Arizona in 2007. Additionally, in 2006, 30.5% of the Federally-sentenced defendatns in Arizona had committed a drug-related offense. 12.1% of those defendants had committed a methamphetamine-related crime.
During 2006 there were 24,360 admissions to drug and alcohol treatment centers in the state of Arizona. People with a crystal meth abuse problem accounted for 3,618 of those admissions. |
